1998
In January 1998, Core Pacific Group acquired the Hong Kong operation of the Yamaichi Company, once the fourth largest Japanese securities company, but which had failed as a result of the Asian financial crisis. The company was renamed Core Pacific-Yamaichi International (H.K.) Limited in February 1998. In the following years, Core Pacific-Yamaichi developed its Greater China focused securities business on the initial foundation laid by Core Pacific Securities International.
2002
Core Pacific-Yamaichi was named the best small cap IPO house of 2002 by Magazine of Finance Asia.
2014
In order to facilitate the long-term development of our group, we have completed a major corporate restructuring with an aim to build ourselves into a professional and comprehensive conglomerate focusing on financial wealth management. In the restructure, we founded Core Pacific-Yamaichi Financial Group Limited as a holding company to spearhead the operations across the group to enhance our efficiency in providing comprehensive financial services in the Greater China Region. The holding company, headquartered in Hong Kong with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, Taipei and California building a strong and powerful platform of comprehensive financial services network.
2016
Core Pacific-Yamaichi Securities (H.K.) Ltd. merged with Core Pacific-Yamaichi International (H.K.) Ltd. on July 1, 2016 with the approval of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), aiming to enhance our operating efficiency, strengthen the group's assets base, provide integrated services to our clients as well as satisfy diversified client needs. The merged entity retains the name of Core Pacific-Yamaichi International (H.K.) Ltd., or (“CPYI”), to carrying out all the dealing and advising of securities businesses of our group.
2021
We take great pride in announcing that on November 3, 2021, we are rebranding our corporate image as part of showing our passion for caring the Earth and our natural environment.
From November 3, 2021, the components and connotation of Core Pacific Group CIS remain unchanged. The three natural elements of "blue sky", "green land" and "ocean" are combined into one to represent the corporate CIS in the new century.

Mr Tang joined Core Pacific - Yamaichi in 1998, shortly after the acquisition of Japan's Yamaichi Hong Kong operation, to establish our retail branch network. He then built up and headed the e-Financial Services and was subsequently appointed as the Head of Institutional and Corporate Sales before being promoted to Managing Director of the Brokerage Business Group.
Prior to joining Core Pacific–Yamaichi, Mr Tang worked in one of the Big 4 accountancy firms in the United Kingdom, and served the special project team in corporate floatation and privatization. Following that, he worked as Group Financial Controller in a top-tier HK financial services group, with major focus in corporate planning and business development.
Mr Tang was awarded an honours degree by the University of Birmingham, UK and held fellowship of various professional institutions both in HK and the UK in the field of management, finance and accountancy.
Brokerage Business Group
With over 25 years of experience in financial industries, Mr Yau possesses extensive knowledge and experience in management, operations and compliance. Prior to joining Core Pacific – Yamaichi, he performed senior management roles in RHB Holdings Hong Kong, KGI Hong Kong and Phillip Securities Group.
Mr Yau graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Brokerage Business Group
Mr Ho has over 25 years of experience in securities industries and possesses extensive knowledge & experience in the development of online trading services, project management in developing trading platform and settlement system, customer services and retail brokerage business management. Prior to joining Core Pacific–Yamaichi, he was the Assistant Director, Private and Corporate Services of a listed securities financial group in Hong Kong.
Mr Ho graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Master's degree in Economics.
Ms Yiu has extensive financial experience in the securities industry. She previously worked for several sizable brokerage Ms Yiu has extensive financial experience in the securities industry. She previously worked for several sizable brokerage firms and played important roles in financial management.
Ms Yiu is a member of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Hong Kong and a Master's degree in Accountancy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

With over 25 years' experience in the securities industries, Mr Wong is well versed in retail brokerage business. He possesses solid experience in leading a high performance sales team and the strategic development of retail sales network.
Mr Wong holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Carleton University, Canada and a Master's degree in Finance from the City University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Yee has over 25 years of experience in the legal, compliance and internal audit fields of the securities industry. Prior to joining Core Pacific - Yamaichi, he was the head of legal and compliance in various securities finance groups.
Ms Hui has over 20 years of risk management experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Core Pacific - Yamaichi, she worked in several international financial institutions, including securities brokerage, asset management firm and private bank.
Ms Hui has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Colorado Christian University, United States and Master's degree in Computer Information System from the Denver University, United States.
Mr Lau has over 20 years of experience in financial information technology management. Prior to joining Core Pacific – Yamaichi, he was the Head of IT at a Chinese-funded financial institution in Hong Kong.
Mr Lau graduated from Lingnan University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Information Systems).
After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration, Mr Chan joined the securities industry and has accumulated over ten years of experience. He has held management positions at various financial institutions and major brokerage firms, specializing in back-office operations and settlement, and has gained extensive experience in both retail and institutional business operations.
Ms Woo is a seasoned HR practitioner with over 25 years of experience in recruitment, compensation & benefits and employees relations with several listed financial institutions in Hong Kong.
Ms Woo graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resources Management.
