New Arrangement of Fund Deposit (23 Mar 2021)

In order to cooperate with the SFC's policy of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing (AML) supervision, and ensure client’s fund can be credited to CPY account accurately and the source of fund can be identified and verified, here is the updated arrangement of fund deposit. Please kindly pay attention and cooperate.

A. Changes with immediate effect:

1. For any fund deposit through phone banking, payment confirmation or transaction record is a must as the supporting document. For High Risk Clients/Screened Customers, additional proof showing the name of depositor is identical to the CPY client name is required.

2. For cash deposit to bank account,cumulative daily cash deposit amount cannot exceed HKD1,000. Bank Transaction Advise with client signature is required (the signature should match with our client signature specimen). CPY reserves the right to refuse any cash deposit to banks that exceeds the cumulative daily limit and/or frequent cash deposit to banks

B. Changes with effective from 1 Apr 2021:

1. From 1 Apr 2021, the upper boundary of Level 1 and the lower boundary of Level 2 fund deposit amount will be changed from HKD200,000 to HKD10,000. For details, please refer to Appendix I.

2. The PPS fund deposit services will be suspended from 1 Apr 2021 until further notice. The arrangement will be:

i.The fund deposit services “PPS Realtime Fund Transfer” through our Online Securities Trading, SP Futures and SP Stock Options platforms will be suspended from 1 Apr 2021 until further notice.

ii.Fund deposit through PPS channels like ppshk.com, Phone PPS, PPS App, PPS terminal, etc. will be suspended from 1 Apr 2021 until further notice. Please do not make any deposit instruction through these PPS channels from 1 Apr 2021. Any fund deposit through PPS will be rejected thereafter.

iii.All fund deposit through Bank Bill Payment will not be accepted since 1 Apr 2021. Any fund deposit through Bank Bill Payment will be rejected thereafter.

The latest arrangement of fund deposit has been updated on「Deposit & Withdrawal Method → Deposit」The summary of arrangement since1 Apr 2021 is as following:

Appendix I:

I. If deposit amount is over certain level, supporting document(s) should be provided and Call Verification should made before any fund deposit can be identified and credited to client's account. Please refer to Appendix for the acceptable supporting document(s).

II. CPY representatives may call you according to the deposit amount and risk level to verify the deposit details and confirm that the source of fund belongs to client’s own account. Please pay attention and response to calls from CPY representatives for the Phone Verification of the deposit details.

III. Administrative charges will be applied if client cannot provide any supporting document/information to verify the fund deposit and requires CPY to request for the transaction proof from the deposit bank.

Please note that the enquiry services take time and it may take longer time to successfully credit the fund deposit.

Please pay attention that:
* We do not recommend fund deposit from Phone PPS as no supporting document is available. Please take note that CPY does not accept any fund deposit through Phone PPS since 1 Apr 2021 until further notice.
** Fund deposit through ppshk.com and HSBC e-Bill payment will be executed and credited to client’s CPY account instantly. Client is required to provide the supporting document/information about the fund deposit on the same day. If client failed to provide, CPY will reverse the fund deposit transaction. Please take note that CPY does not accept any fund deposit through ppshk.com since 1 Apr 2021 until further notice.
*** CPY reserves the right to refuse cash deposit to banks that exceed the cumulative daily limit and/or frequent cash deposit to banks

Remarks:
1. If the name of the depositor can be shown clearly on the supporting document that can match with CPY client name, no further Phone Verification is required.
2. Third party deposit is not accepted. The name of deposit bank account must be the same as the CPY client account name.
3. If clients fail to provide supporting documents/information or the supporting documents/information provided is not accepted by CPY for any reason, CPY reserves the right to return the fund. You are liable to bear all bank charges and related risk, including but not limited to any forced liquidation actions taken by us, resulting from failure to timely deposit of fund so to meet the margin requirement. CPY is not responsible for all costs incurred by the customer as a result of the refund, bank interest, personal loss between client and the third party. Please note that the time necessary for crediting fund to clients' account(s) will take longer due to the verification of fund deposit.
