Research Director: Alex Tang (Tel: 852 2826 0003), University of Wisconsin (B.Sc.) and Chinese University of HK (M.Phil), is a veteran economist with more than 25 years experience in business-oriented research. He spent six years with China Light & Power, during which he was involved in the economic / financial valuation of the Daya Bay Nuclear Plant and the Guangdong Cong Hua Pumped Storage Scheme. Capital Magazine named Mr Tang 'Navigator' for the Japanese Funds in 1997. Mr Tang maintains a high profile in the investment community, as his market strategies and stock picks are often quoted in the media. He coined the term 'Red Chips' in 1992.

Head of China Research: Richard Lee (Tel: 852 2826 0061) has an MBA degree from the University of Hull, U.K. and a BSc degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He is also a CFA charter holder. Prior to joining Core Pacific - Yamaichi, Richard worked for Citic Capital and KGI Asia covering China/Hong Kong infrastructure & transportation sector. Richard has also spent five years with Merrill Lynch from 1996-2002 (two years in Hong Kong and three years in New York) and supported regional research and global research & strategy. Research Manager (Shanghai Office): Olive Xia (Tel: 8621 6886 6902) has an MBA from Fudan University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. She is a CFA charter holder. She has extensive experience in the consumer, auto, and banking industries. Before joining Core Pacific - Yamaichi, she worked for Xinhua Finance and China Merchants Bank. She covers the China consumer, insurance and auto sectors.
